Frequently asked questions
Which areas do you cover?
I’m based in Blackrod and cover homes within about five minutes’ drive, including Blackrod, Horwich and Adlington, near Chorley. If you’re a little further away, get in touch and I’ll let you know.
Do you meet my pet before the first booking?
Yes. Every new client starts with a free meet-and-greet, so I can learn your pet’s routine, health and favourite things, and you can ask me anything.
Can you give medication or injections?
Yes, as directed by your vet – including tablets, eye or ear drops and injections such as insulin. Please give me your vet’s instructions and the medication at the meet-and-greet.
Can you diagnose what’s wrong with my pet?
No. As a Registered Veterinary Nurse I work alongside your vet but can’t diagnose or prescribe. If I’m worried about your pet, I’ll contact you and your vet straight away.
What happens in an emergency?
I’ll contact you and take your pet to your vet, or the nearest vet if yours is closed. Please make sure I have your vet’s details and an emergency contact.
How do I pay?
By cash or bank transfer. Consultations are paid appointments, with a small deposit before the first visit.
How do keys work?
Keys are handed over at the meet-and-greet, or you can use a key safe. Keys are kept securely and labelled without your address.
Will I get updates?
Yes – a message and photos after every visit.
Do you offer dog boarding?
Not yet. Home boarding needs a council licence, and I’m working towards it.
